Fully-vaccinated UK holidaymakers heading to Cyprus will not longer need to have proof of a negative pre-departure Covid test to enter the destination.
The rule change came into force this week but latest guidelines state all travellers aged 12 and above must still take a PCR test on arrival at the airport, costing tourists up to £15 each.
Arrivals must self-isolate in their accommodation until results are received, which should be within three hours. If a test comes back positive, visitors must remain in isolation and await instructions from the Cypriot Ministry of Health.
The country will also instruct some tourists to take a further free rapid Covid test 72 hours after arrival at a mobile unit – although those who have already had the booster jab are exempt from the extra tests.
Meanwhile, Bahrain has axed the rule forcing travellers to take a PCR test on arrival and quarantine regulations have also been lifted.
