Geraniums in worn-out trainers, succulents in a wheelbarrow and trailing petunias in old tyres – these are some of the amazing creations in Lynn Cameron’s garden, all using other people’s rubbish.
The real-life Womble and grandmother of four is a reuser of other people’s discarded waste and has transformed her plot bit by bit over 30 years.
The green-fingered goddess, Lynn, 61, described her garden as ‘looking like a dumping ground’ when she moved. It was littered with bricks, broken glass and even a fridge freezer.
She said she did not have enough money to spent big on revamping it and so started to recycle and reuse other people’s discarded stuff.
She uses a bed frame to grow fruit plants and dumped tyres to make a pond in the lovely Scottish garden.
Recently she welcomed 100 visitors and raised money for a charity which had helped her when she went through hard times.
