Set to launch in May, the new facilities will be managed by GLL, the charitable social enterprise and worker-owned cooperative operating under the community-brand Better.
Shaun Dawson, chief executive of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority said, “We are delighted to be carrying out this investment project during Lee Valley VeloPark’s 10th anniversary year.
“Over the past decade over 8.4 million people have visited this stunning venue, hugely broadening participation in cycling. Thousands more have watched the world’s best compete at 18 major international events, introducing wider audiences to the thrills of live cycling events and inspiring future generations.
“This latest investment to create a top-class fitness suite, which is available to everyone, is part of our ongoing programme of improvement at the venue, ensuring its long term sustainability.”
