Kate Garraway has given an important update on her husband Derek Draper ‘s health, and revealed that doctors have said he is unlikely to recover if there isn’t any progress two years on from him catching Covid-19.
The Good Morning Britain presenter said she was told by health care professionals that “there is very little chance of him making any meaningful recovery” if there is no improvement within the time frame, writes The Mirror.
Former Labour political aide Derek was first admitted to hospital with Covid-19 in March last year and had the worst coronavirus infection of any surviving patient, he nearly died six times at the height of his fight with the virus.
Thankfully, earlier this year Derek was well enough to return home to be with Kate and their family although he requires round-the-clock care and is still struggling with the effects of long Covid.
It truly has been a horrific year for Kate and her family, and they even documented Derek’s journey in an ITV documentary as well as Kate’s new book the ‘Power of Hope’.
