Kate Garraway has provided viewers of Good Morning Britain with an update on her husband Derek Draper’s health.
Kate was joined by Alastair Campbell on the show, who revealed that he knew Derek, having worked both with him in the past, according to LancsLive.
Joking on the show, Alastair said: “I know your old man incredibly well. Used to work with him, occasionally against him.”
The pair joked about Alastair and Derek’s competitive history before, the subject of conversation turned to Derek’s health.
Explaining the situation, Kate said: “He’s alright, he’s alright. He’s very up and down, we’re certainly not a long way out of the woods.”
But she added that his return home did not signal an improvement in his health.
On why he came home, she said: “Not because he was better, no. But being home has meant we’ve seen some things improved.
