THE scene is all set and the weather set fair for the annual much anticipated return to live action at the 124th Kilnsey Show and Sports next week.
Organisers Upper Wharfedale Agricultural Society report strong entry levels for Tuesday’s (August 31) show, with numbers in the keynote cattle and sheep classes on a par with 2019 when the show was last staged in its picture postcard setting in the shadow of famous Kilnsey Crag.
Entries in the ever-popular equine classes are 30 per cent up, with a brand-new Craven Country Ride arena in place this year for horse competitions and additional entertainment, providing more space for all the way action.
Produce, handicraft and horticulture classes have again been well supported, as have entries for the sports, with a maximum entry limit of 100 for safety reasons signed up for the senior fell race.
Harness racing under British Harness Racing Club rules will again provide a fitting finale to a thrilling day.
