Glasgow’s Irn-Bru Carnival will only last for three days this year – due to measures brought in to stop the spread of Covid-19.
The fair was due to run at the city’s SECC venue from December 22 until January 16.
But tough new restrictions announced by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today mean that the event will only run from tomorrow until Christmas Eve.
The carnival features fair rides and other entertainment is always hugely popular with families.
But from Boxing Day “large-scale” events are being limited to just 500 people for three weeks.
A statement from organisers read: “Following on from this afternoon’s Government announcement, the IRN-BRU Carnival will now be open from Wednesday 22 December until Friday 24th December.
“This is a devastating blow for the Carnival, as we were so looking forward to returning with a bang.
“However, tickets for the 22nd – 24th December are still available – so if you want to join us, book your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
