Mascara has long been a makeup bag must-have to offer length, volume and curl to lashes.
And some are undoubtedly better than others, with some people preferring a thin comb, while others prefer a thicker wand.
And when Benefit launched their Roller Lash mascara in 2015, it was dubbed as a ‘beauty game changer’ – and now has more than 300 reviews on the Benefit site, and a further 345 five star reviews on Boots.com.
But with a price tag of £24.50, it might not be the most affordable lash product for everyday use.
So when Instagram’s ‘dupeshopbeauty’ revealed that Essence’s Lash Princess Volume mascara was a dupe, you bet I ran to Wilko to pick one up.
You could buy seven Essence Lash Princess mascaras for the price of one Benefit Roller Lash , which with a three month shelf life, would last you nearly two years.
I tried both mascaras and wore one on each eye all day to see which I preferred.
