Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the property market broke records in 2020, with average house prices in the UK exceeding a quarter of a million pounds, according to the Halifax house price index.
Today house prices stand at £253,243 on average, with the market experiencing its “strongest run of growth” since 2004, according to the mortgage lender, and average values have soared more than £15,000 — an increase of 6.5 per cent — since June.
In Cheshire, there is plenty on the market for the £250,000 mark but not all areas of the county seem to be created equal.
There are some areas of the county where you can get a lot more value for money than others.
Tom Parker, Consumer Spokesperson at Zoopla comments: “Although well known as home to celebrities and footballers, Cheshire has plenty of affordable areas where £250,000 goes a long way.
“Homes currently for sale for this price include a stunning modern family home in Northwich, and a three bedroom home in Latchford with a spacious rear garden.”
