SHOPPERS have hit out after Zara closed a popular store days before Christmas.
The high street fashion chain closed their store on Fremlin Walk, Maidstone, last week.
The last day of trading was Monday. Locals have expressed disappointment around the closure on social media.
One person said: “Sadly the town centre is haemorrhaging decent shops and restaurants.”
Another posted: “This is a shame for Maidstone. Zara closing must be to do with lease being up and the fact that they are much quieter without M and S being nearby.”
Some shoppers complained that Zara had not notified customers that the shop in Maidstone was about to close.
The Spanish owned chain, famous for their fast and flexible production times, has around 60 stores in the UK.
Over recent weeks Zara has been targeted by Pro-Palestinian demonstrators in London’s West End.
