ARGUS gardening columnist Geoff Stonebanks is a Yuletide superfan.
His impressive collection of Christmas decorations, accumulated over 55 years, now attracts nationwide attention.
Geoff, from Seaford, has over 30 crates of festive baubles and trimmings, some dating back to the 1930s, but mainly from the 1960s and 1970s, that come down from the loft every year.
His festive ornaments and trees have been featured in the national press and last year Channel 5 made a programme called “Incredible Christmas Trees. How to decorate them” which has just aired again.
It included a segment, filmed with Geoff at home, on his amazing lounge tree which boasts 15 metres of tinsel, 1,700 fairy lights, over 800 baubles and ten metres of silver beading.
Geoff said “I always feel, when getting my garden ready to open every year, that I am dressing a film set for visitors to view and the same principle applies with my Christmas decorations. I’m a bit of a perfectionist.
