rance, Italy and a host of other countries look set to join the UK’s green list for British holidaymakers this month, according to a travel expert.
As Covid cases stabilise in European nations they are likely to open up for sun-starved Brits ahead of the summer holidays.
As well as the two hotspots other countries expected to join are: Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Norway, Vietnam, Denmark, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Taiwan and Azerbaijan.
But former British Airways strategy chief Robert Boyle claims to have cracked the code behind the UK Government’s traffic light decisions.
“There seems to be nothing in the data the Government says it is using that explains why they are languishing on the amber list at this point,” said Mr Boyle in The Telegraph.
“I’m sure the answer is politics somehow, but there doesn’t even seem to be any obvious political logic for why two apparently similar countries get classified differently.”
