A PHOTOGRAPHER and filmmaker who captured the tranquility of the Lake District during lockdown has been nominated for film festival in Pakistan.
The film-poem by Henry Iddon, from Blackpool, has been nominated as part of the Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival, only one of the three mountain film festivals in Asia.
‘All at Once’, which includes shots of the Lake District and Keswick town centre, was filmed on May 8, VE Day bank holiday, when celebrations were to take place throughout the UK but due to Covid-19, Henry caught a particular “astonishing” and isolated moment in time.
The film, shot in 4k, is serenely soundtracked by poet Mark Goodwin, who gives a mash-up and retelling of one of William Wordsworth’s most famous Lake District poems – ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud’.
Henry described Mark as a “wonderful poet” with a contemporaneous special style and rhythm.
He said he was very pleased to have the film recognised by the festival, of which he was previously a judge at their similar Kathmandu awards.
