A fashion boss whose shoes have been worn by Meghan Markle and Beyoncé has been jailed for defrauding the firm he founded out of more than £500,000.
Roy Luwolt, 38, co-founder of Malone Souliers, blew the cash he stole on luxury foreign holidays, jewellery, clubbing around the world and £650 cigars, a court heard.
He spent £34,000 in a single evening at Annabel’s nightclub – but ordered another company employee to repay £7.82 when she put an Uber ride on expenses, Southwark crown court was told.
The company’s footwear is favoured by celebrities, including Gemma Arterton and Kristen Stewart.
Co-founder Mary Alice Malone replaced Luwolt as the face of the shoe brand at World Wide Shoes LLP in November 2018 after he was accused of defrauding the company, which then traded as Malone Souliers.
