After another year dominated by lockdowns and Covid-19 restrictions many of us are looking forward to putting 2021 behind us and focusing on 2022.
As ever a new year means new legislation coming onto the statute book both in Wales and Westminster and we need to be aware of what’s changing.
Arguably the most significant new law set to come into force in 2022 is Wales’ ban on all types of physical punishment. From March 21 it will be illegal for anyone in Wales to smack or hit any child – including your own children.

As well as this a groundbreaking ‘no fault’ divorce law comes into effect from April 6 and the national minimum wage and national living wage increase in April too.
