As temperatures drop and snow falls across the UK this week, a dog expert is warning owners what habits to follow and avoid when taking pets out in the icy conditions
A vet is warning dog owners what pet hacks to follow and avoid when it comes to taking your dog out in the snow.
Dog walkers will need to wrap up warm this week; the Met Office has issued a snow warning across parts of England and told Brits to expect further “sleet and snow showers” as temperatures continue to plummet to near zero. Icy patches are expected and people should be aware of expected travel disruption.
Most dogs are happy to go for walks in all weather conditions, however if not then try to understand why, a vet explained. Some dogs do not like the cold and it may be a simple case of fitting them with a coat. Some do not like getting their feet wet, and so pavement or gravel walking may be more appropriate.
