A dog was left “shaking like a leaf” after being bitten by another dog at a Wirral beauty spot.
Dan Price was out walking his dog, Coco, near the Derby Pool in New Brighton around 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) when the dog, a Shar Pei, went close to two Border Collies.
He says one of the dogs had a ball which Coco started to sniff at then one of the dogs lashed out and took a chunk out of his dog’s leg before she limped back to her owner.
While Dan was checking on the dog, he says the owners of the border collies bundled their dogs into the car and were about to make off when he approached them in their vehicle.
He says the owners denied their dogs had anything to do with Coco’s injuries , leaving Dan “angry” and “in shock” at what happened to his pet.
According to police, the owner of the two Border Collies did check to see if Coco was hurt.
