Cornwall is hoping to be the UK’s next City of Culture, with a group of towns banding together to bid for the title which would bring millions of pounds in investment.
Hoping to wow the country with our fantastic creatives, art, and stunning views – the bid launches today, off the back of the county’s time in the spotlight from G7.
More perceptive readers will note that Cornwall is not, in fact, a city.
However, the judges of the competition – the UK Government department for digital, culture, media and sport – recently changed the rules to allow groups of towns to enter as well as cities.
Cornwall, as a whole, will therefore enter and hope to be crowned city of culture in 2025.
