Boris Johnson has announced a raft of new Coronavirus measures will come into force today.
The Prime Minister has introduced the tougher restrictions after the Omnicron variant hit the UK.
Six new cases of the highly mutated strain have been discovered in Scotland, in addition to three already detected in England.

The new rules are designed to curb the spread of the “variant of concern” while scientists investigate to learn more about its threat.
The government confirmed they will review the new measures in three weeks’ time.

Face coverings are set to be made made compulsory in shops and on public transport in England.
It is also now mandatory to wear a face mask in hairdressers, banks and post offices.
