An expat planning on spending two years living and travelling across the UK asked others who have travelled across England to name some of their favourite “must-see” destinations in the country, after experiencing an “underwhelming” trip to the capital. Posting their question to Reddit, the expat asked: “Which are the must-see places in England? Just moved to UK for work. Will be here for about two years.
“I would like to explore England [and] Scotland before I leave and was looking at suggestions from folks since London was very underwhelming for me.” [SIC]
Answers flooded in from all corners of the country, with both British residents and tourists from overseas sharing their top picks of destinations. “Must see” locations span beaches, countryside and mountainous regions, lakes and even theme parks.
