The Lawn residential care home, in Alton, in Hampshire was the setting for a very special milestone recently, as resident Frederick Bowpitt (known as Bill) celebrated his 100th birthday.
The Lawn is run by charity Friends of the Elderly, and the charity’s Royal Patron, HRH The Queen kicked off proceedings with a commemorative telegram for Bill on his Centenarian Day.
The team at The Lawn made sure Bill’s birthday was one to remember and packed full of celebrations with cards, gifts, a Covid-safe visit from his son, Graham, and a special lunch of his favourite meal – roast lamb – that Bill specifically requested. This was followed by a rousing rendition of happy birthday, topped off with a delicious birthday cake, handmade by the care home’s talented chef.
