NHS Lanarkshire is promoting the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland (BFS) Scheme.
Some of the lowest breastfeeding rates in Scotland are recorded in Lanarkshire.
The right to breastfeed in public places is enshrined in law in Scotland and the initiative supports businesses in the creation of an environment where breastfeeding is welcomed and protected.
The law ensures that babies can be fed anywhere, and it is an offence to prevent them being fed in a public place.
