Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed the name of his new baby girl whilst on a visit to a vaccination centre in Kent.
His wife Carrie Johnson, 33, later took to Instagram of the couple’s newest arrival called Romy Iris Charlotte Johnson.
She said the usual name was inspired by her aunt Rosemary, whilst Iris is the Greek word for rainbow, a heartwarming nod to the fact the newborn is a ‘rainbow baby’, meaning a child born after miscarriage or stillbirth.

When the couple announced that they were expecting their second child together at the end of July, the environmental campaigner also opened up about having suffered a miscarriage earlier in the year.
The Prime Minister’s wife said she decided to be open about the tragedy she suffered because she ‘found it a real comfort to hear from people who had also experienced loss’.
Charlotte was chosen in honour of the Prime Minister’s late mother, Charlotte Johnson Wahl, who passed away earlier this year and whom the pair “miss so much”.
