Jake Abrahams, 30, the owner of the gym says that the key to their success is that the gym is “welcoming” and has a “big community and family”.
He said: “We all worked in a commercial gym, but when you work in there, you aren’t really valued as a member.
“A big commercial space is quite daunting, it isn’t a welcoming space or a safe space, but here you get really looked after.
“From day one, we know all of our members by name, it’s a big community and family, it’s very social.
“We do a lot of events – a lot of community events and social events.”
Colony also helps to raise funds for charities quite often – they recently helped Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool to get the children presents.

Jake says that it’s “amazing” to be considered for The Bolton News’ Gym of the Year Award.
He said: “Especially considering that there’s so much competition.”
