Billy Connolly’s wife Pamela Stephenson has revealed her Covid lockdown project – of a new musical – and fans have asked her to premiere it at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Pamela who has written and sung before on musical projects and is an actress in her own right, having appeared on Superman III, History of the World: Part 1, and Not The Nine o Clock News, decided to create a musical stage show around the life of the man known as Bum Farto.
Bum Farto or Joseph Farto (yes real surname) was born in Key West, Florida, on July 3, 1919.
Joseph grew up across the street from Key West’s fire station.
He developed a reputation for soliciting change from the firemen, earning the nickname, “Bum”.
