BBC Weather forecaster Sarah Keith-Lucas has warned the more unsettled conditions are on the cards for England. Heavy rain and thunderstorms have brought the potential for locally intense rainfall, this has led the Environment Agency to announce flood warnings across London. Ms Keith-Lucas advised Briton that the torrential downpours also have the potential to cause travel disruption to journeys this weekend.
Ms Keith-Lucas told BBC Weather: “The heatwave is now behind us and we have a bit of a change to the theme of the weather over the next couple of days.
“More unsettled conditions on the cards.
“Really through the week ahead, we are looking at that gradual change to cooler conditions.
“Still some heavy showers around at times but also some spells of sunshine between as well.
“We have had some fairly heavy downpours over recent hours,” added the meteorologist.
“You can see on the satellite image this area of cloud which has been moving its way up from the south.
