ARTISTS have the opportunity to make their mark on Weymouth as the council issues a commission to produce street art to decorate the town.
As reported, Weymouth Town Council, in partnership with We Are Weymouth, has confirmed a new public art project has been launched which will be completed by July next year.
Applications are now being taken for artists who want to design and produce the 10-location street art trail which is hoped will attract residents and visitors and encourage them to explore and enjoy outdoor artworks inspired by the history and culture of the town.
Ten wall spaces have been identified around the town including at Hope Square, Greenhill Gardens, Weymouth Beach, Nothe Gardens and St Thomas Street.
Up to 10 commissions are available for artists to research, design and paint the walls. The collective artworks can be viewed individually but will collectively form a mural trail.
