New measures designed to tackle the increasing problem of wild campers at a beauty spot have been described as “pointless” unless they are enforced.
During the past few years, Llyn Geirionydd in the Conwy Valley has become a magnet for walkers, wild campers and picnickers.
But there have been numerous reports of increased litter, including abandoned barbecues and tents being left by some visitors to the area.

A multi-agency meeting is taking place next week to discuss the problem.
Conwy County Council has recently introduced traffic management measures to ease problems with traffic and improve road safety.
Verges have been dug up, laybys have been blocked off with earthworks, and signs have been put across some areas telling people they can’t park or camp there.
However, local councillor Gill Scheltinga said that, unless Conwy Council uses its officers to enforce the new measures, they are a waste of money.
