Last year I was too late to jump on the ‘grow your own’ bandwagon, so this spring I thought I’d give it a go.
According to a YouGov survey for the Horticultural Trades Association in 2020, the popularity of growing your own continues to rise, with 38 per cent of British adults saying that they use their garden or outdoor space such as a balcony or window box to grow herbs, fruit and vegetables.
I know absolutely nothing about gardening, so please forgive my ignorance, but I thought I’d share some things that surprised me for fellow beginners starting their green finger journey.
