Every weekend in “normal times” huge flocks of shoppers descend on the city centre to enjoy a day out spending money on clothes, shoes and jewellery.
But when the shops re-open in a week’s time, there will be less choice for anyone coming to Leicester looking to buy a new outfit.
Big name retailers have been dropping like flies since the pandemic started, causing misery for those losing their jobs and sadness for everyone who is losing one or more of their favourite stores.
Here is a list of 15 clothing and accessory shops in central Leicester that will not be opening their doors again.

It was announced way back in May last year that the Highcross branch would shut and the city will not even be getting the replacement store in the £135 million Fosse Park extension that had been planned.
