Wales-based factual indie Wildflame Productions has appointed former Off the Fence (OTF) chief creative officer Allison Bean as its creative director.

Bean will be tasked with driving international growth at the company, expanding Wildflame’s partnerships with international broadcasters worldwide as well as in the UK.
The exec begins her role in January 2023 and will report to Wildflame CEO Paul Islwyn Thomas.
At OTF, Bean spent 16 years growing the firm’s production capability, most recently under the title of chief creative officer.
Under her stewardship, the Amsterdam-based distributor created OTF Productions in Bristol as well as more recently launching its digital offering OTF Fast, and commercial arm OTF Studios.

Bean’s appointment continues to grow Wildflame’s senior team following the hire of Connie Fisher, who was appointed head of development in October.
Executive producer Catrin Mair Jones, meanwhile, will lead on all Welsh-language programming for S4C and exec a wide range of factual output for the company.
