With the Omicron variant discovered in the UK, the UK Government has scrambled in some new regulations for visitors to the country. Let’s go through the requirements that have been put in place

Testing and Isolation
All Arrivals into the UK will :
- All international arrivals must take a Day 2 PCR test
- All international arrivals must self-isolate until they receive a negative result.
- All contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate, regardless of their vaccination status. They will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace.
This will be introduced “Next Week” – no exact date announced.
Face Coverings and Masks
Mask wearing has been rather lax during the summer and the good times. Well, that comes to a screeching halt.
Face coverings will be made compulsory in shops and on public transport from next week. All hospitality settings will be exempt.
This will bring England in line with Scotland and Wales. These changes will go into force next week – no exact date announced.
