A significant change is on the horizon for thousands of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claimants, as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) plans to transition individuals onto the Adult Disability Payment (ADP).
Current PIP recipients need not worry about applying for ADP, as the DWP will automatically transfer them when their turn comes. A letter from Social Security Scotland will inform claimants of the date they will begin receiving payments.
The amount received under ADP will match that of the current PIP, unless a change in health condition has been reported to the DWP. The payment schedule will remain the same, ensuring no gap in payments during the transition from PIP to ADP.
