‘Best shops to steal from’ and ‘CEO of borrowing’: Is TikTok ‘enticing’ people to shoplift?

TikTok videos are “enticing” young people into shoplifting, the Money blog has been told, and there are calls for the platform to do more to stop it.
Sky News found several examples of videos seemingly glamorising theft, including clips of people sharing shoplifting hacks, telling stories about how they used to steal and detailing where to buy gadgets to help remove security tags.
The term “borrowing” came up numerous times to describe stealing.
We found videos explaining how to get away with “borrowing”, hauls, showing items that had been stolen, and accounts describing themselves as the “CEO of borrowing” – some of them had been liked thousands of times.
Some videos even claimed to list stores that are easiest to steal from, sometimes ranking them out of 10.
