The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis will require current and future employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. The bank told its 1,100 employees that they were required to be fully vaccinated by the end of August in order to continue working there, Neel Kashkari, the bank’s president, revealed in a blog post.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pushed back against suggestions that people who test negative for coronavirus after being asked to self-isolate should be allowed to go free. At present, people who have been in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19 are required to self-isolate for up to 10 days, even if they subsequently test negative.
Health officials in Mississippi, the least vaccinated state in the US, have revealed that more than 75 per cent of coronavirus infections during a 10-day period in June were Delta variant cases. Thomas Dobbs, the state’s health officer, said on Twitter that 78 per cent of Covid-19 cases from June 16 to 25 were the more transmissible variant.
