A huge plan to build more than 300 ‘high-quality’ homes and a school in Littleborough has been tabled with council bosses. Bloor Homes has submitted proposals for 312 homes; a primary school; and an extension to the car park at Hollingworth Lake Country Park.
The majority of the homes would have four bedrooms – 122. There will also be three and five-bed homes. A total of 47 two and three-bedroom homes would be be available for rent at social housing rates.
The site, off Hollingworth Road, is currently farmland. A new park and a tree-lined ‘green corridor’ linking Rochdale Canal to Hollingworth Lake and a circular footpath network are also planned.

Developers have committed to the ‘future homes standard’, meaning every property will be energy efficient. There are plans for electric vehicle charting points, as well as super-fast broadband to every home.
