The publication praised the town’s ‘spectacular transformation’ and its ‘reinvention as a funky alternative to Manchester’s hippest quarters.’
Stockport is one of 12 towns featured on the list of the most desirable towns and neighbourhoods for first time buyers to set up home.
The piece highlighted the variety of property available to first time buyers; from smaller red brick terraces to flats in mill conversions. It also noted the growing number of town centre properties being brought forward thanks to a £1 billion regeneration programme, which will see thousands of new homes created, with complementary amenities.
Stockport was also lauded for its excellent connectivity, being eight minutes from Manchester city centre by train, and two hours from central London and within easy reach of the Peak District National Park.
Several ambitious projects are currently underway in the town centre, all adding to Stockport’s great reputation as a fantastic place to live, work and visit.
