Star Trek actress Laurel Goodwin has passed away at the age of 79.
The star’s sister, Maureen Scott, has confirmed the sad news.
Maureen said that her beloved sister died on February 25 but didn’t reveal the cause of death.
According to The Mirror, Maureen paid tribute to her sister and explained that “if she knew you, you quickly became family”.
At the age of 19, Laurel starred opposite music icon Elvis Presley in the 1962 feature Girls! Girls! Girls!
She played character Laurel Dodge, who wanted to win Elvis’ affection. The most famous scene from the flick was a heartwarming dance scene between the pair.
Then just four years later, Laurel starred alongside Jeffery Hunter in the original failed Star Trek pilot titled Star Trek: The Cage. She was cast as Yeoman J.M. Colt.
