Derby County needed to end their three-match losing run and did so with a 2-0 victory over Barnsley in a relegation battle at Pride Park Stadium.
Ravel Morrison scored both goals. The first came after 22 minutes, the second two minutes after half time.

Derby County started on the front foot against Barnsley. They were positive and forward-thinking, and it paid off in style after 22 minutes.
Max Bird moved forward with the ball and found Tom Lawrence, who waited before threading a pass into the Barnsley box. Ravel Morrison’s clever dummy threw the visitors’ defence off guard and Luke Plange had the awareness to knock the ball back into the path of Morrison and he expertly lifted it over Brad Collins.
Defences are never comfortable when play is speeded up around the edge of the area, and Barnsley were cut open on this occasion.
