Countries across the world have banned British tourists following the increase in Omicron cases across the UK.
A further 1,576 cases of the Omicron strain of Covid-19 were reported across the UK on Monday (December 13), now taking the total to 4,713.
Of this total, 1,534 of these cases were in England, 27 were in Scotland and 15 were in Wales according to the UK Health Security Agency, M.E.N reports.
It comes after the first death of a patient with Omicron in the UK was confirmed by the PM.
Now, 15 countries – including Australia, New Zealand and China – have now tightened restrictions, meaning British tourists are effectively banned from visiting the destinations.
The UK itself has introduced strict travel rules in an attempt to stop new variants being imported.
